Panama City Beach has a new Saltwater Fishing Tournament and it maiden voyage is this summer! The Grand Lagoon National is sheduled for August 20-24, 2008. Panama City Beach’s other big tournament is the Bay Point Annual Billfish Invitational will be on July 9th to the 13th.

Good day all,

Freddie Mac reports that interest rates on 30 year fixed rate loans fell again last week. Now at their lowest level in nearly four years.

Mortgage rates averaged 5.48 percent for the week ended Jan. 24. Down from 5.69 percent a week ago.
Freddie Mac also reports that rates on 15-year mortgages declined to 4.95 percent from 5.21 percent.

Yesterday was the official ground breaking for the Panama City- Bay County International Airport. Approximately 1000 people in attendance.

There is a lot of speculation as to whether or not the airport will stimulate real estate sales in the area. I think it is possible. We may see some investors come back into the market as a result of the airport contruction.
