Early today the Airport Authority began emailing invitations to a “Ceremonial Groundbreaking” for the new airport, to be held on Thursday, November 1, at 9:30 a.m. on Hwy 388 in West Bay.

Pier Park in Panama City Beach sure is coming along nicely! Its is going to be a GREAT place for folks to shop, eat, drink and be merry! There are a host of stores coming and quite a few under construction. The theaters are done. Long Horn Steakhouse is done. Target, Starbucks, and Panera Bread are done!

As most folks in Florida already know our property tax system has run amuck and the more gov’t tried to help us the worse things got! The good news is we now have a GOOD choice to try and get some relief. Recently the Cut Property Taxes Now, Inc. has come up with the only solution that I have seen that makes sense. The recent Super Homestead Exception was a joke in IMHO. I know many of my peers including the Bay County Association of REALTORS(R) and the Florida Association of REALTORS(R) supported it. 3.10.07 » New HUD Rule Bans Seller Funded Down Payments for FHA Loans

Things just got more difficult for first time home buyers…although I have to admit I am not sorry to see this go by the wayside. It was confusing to buyers, sellers and REALTORS(R). The practical application of this program and this rule in particular has proven difficult.
